Garubo Salon thank you!

Locating in the heart of Maplewood NJ is Garubo Salon, a beauty salon that focuses as much on inner beauty as it does outer beauty. The legacy of Anthony Garrubo, who sadly passed away last year, is carried on my his family and staff. They believe in lifelong education, cultivating young talent and excellent customer service. In fact, every time I am there and am asked if I would like the foot rest up, I think of Anthony…the last time I saw him it was his day off, he popped in for a moment, and he passed by me sitting at the hair washing station, he stopped and asked if I would like my feet up (up until this interaction I had always declined), I accepted and he had such a genuine smile that he could be of some service to his customers. Now when someone asked I always say yes, and tell them it reminds me of him and legacy of paying attention to the small details and customer comfort and experience. I will be remembering Anthony along my journey.

Ashley is my colorist and she really listens and also sets realistic expectations and makes great suggestions! As someone with coarse hair that has different gray patterns and consistencies it’s a bit tricky - but she has me looking my best. She specializes in gray blending which I will eventually move towards. Arabia has been giving me killer cuts! I had been wearing my hair blown out for years but with Arabia’s curly cuts I can go from a blow out to big beautiful curls with confidence!
